Recently got a check engine light on our 01 Explorer Sport. Followed the straightforward instructions, and got the codes no problem. Installed the provided software, hooked the unit up to my laptop, and within seconds had the data downloaded and saved in a nice text report, both codes and freeze frame data. Used the update button, and both the software and the firmware on the unit were upgraded from the internet, no problems. This unit does exactly what it says it will, and does it well.

I bought thtis product because I had this annoying message popped up once in my 2005 accord saying "check fuel cap". eventually went away after 3 days.( I didn't get my tool soon enough}, anyway, I had an occasion to use it as I was changing my power steering fluid on my 07 g35 and required me to undo the air filter, ran the engine with the air box undone and I got a "service engine soon" light , that I was able to erase instead of waiting 3 days or going to the dealership and waste my time wait......

The CanOBD2 Dignosis Tool is cool. It saved me money and even made me some!!! My friends come to me to scan their cars and even give me donations! But seriously, its awesome for its price. I was able to scan my car and figure out what was wrong it and using the car repair manual that I also bought on Amazon.com it saved me what would normally be[...] at the mechanics (for parts and labor) to only $47 in parts. Using the repair manual, I was able to do the labor repair myself!!

I bought this because we have 2 older cars and dont really forsee a reason to buy a new one right now. I do most of the maintence work on the cars since things are tight. It gives the codes, but if you want a frezze frame or a PC printout, you will need to register at the company's website. Forget the disk that comes with the reader, its worthless.
